ZETA MINOR NEWS

Our Incoming database passed a significant milestone this week: it now features more than five thousand DVD, HD DVD and Blu-ray titles!

Don't forget that, in addition to the list of forthcoming titles, you can also search the database for titles that have are already available. OK, so it's not the most comprehensive price-comparison resource out there, but it is skewed to the sort of titles that visitors to this site are likely to be interested in, and using our affiliate links helps keep Zeta Minor afloat!

Here are a couple of useful Incoming bookmarks...

My thanks, as always, to the team of people who help keep the database up to date and running smoothly: Barry Delve, Mike Hadfield, Ceri Laing, Ian Palmer, and the apparently indefatigable Ben Mott!

BOOK NEWS

Titan Books have announced the release of a behind-the-scenes book examining Tim Burton's forthcoming movie adaptation of Stephen Sondheim's musical Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.

The 176-page hardback book, which is due on January the 25th, was written by Mark Salisbury, who had exclusive access to the set. The book has a foreword by Burton himself, and includes extracts from the shooting script, more than two-hundred photo's, concept drawings, production designs, Burton's own sketches, and costume designs by Oscar-winning designer Colleen Atwood. RRP is £19.99. Amazon currently have it for £13.19.

CULT TV NEWS

Mike Richardson, the editor of Action TV, by far the best publication focussing on vintage cult television, has announced the release of a new issue, which tackles Space: 1999's troubled second season, and the first couple of seasons of one of my all-time favourite shows, Public Eye.

Here's the announcement...

Action TV Vol 2 No 3 is now available and offers possibly the most detailed volume yet, as it presents the most comprehensive works ever assembled on Space:1999 season 2, The Girl From U.N.C.L.E. and Public Eye seasons 1 and 2, complete with episode guide.

Space: 1999 season 2: In depth article running through the episodes in production order, complete with dates of shooting scripts, script revisions and much more!

The Girl From U.N.C.L.E.: The most detailed article ever on this obscure show, complete with shooting dates and information about the MGM Studios back-lots where most of the exteriors of this series were shot. We prove that Action TV can do American shows in the same high level of detail that we have been doing British ones for years. Assembled with the assistance of the series associate producer George Lehr.

Public Eye seasons 1 & 2: The most detailed article ever put together on this show (complete with episodes guide to both seasons), with some production dates and information on episodes long since wiped. Assembled with access to original ABC Television documentation and with assistance from co-creator Roger Marshall.

Copies can be ordered on the Action TV website (found at action-tv.org.uk) or alternatively, you can call Star Trader on 01253 400321.
