In the Victoria Street branch, it's not a part of any offer. But £2.99 - cheap as chips, couldn't resist!Originally posted by Allen Dace@28 Sep 2005, 11:46 PM
Popped into Oxford Street today and noticed dozens of copies of 'The Wicker Man' at a giveaway £2.99!!! Its also in the '4 for £20' offer so check the sticker. 'The Rutles - All You Need Is Cash' was £3.99. These stood out to me as particularly cheap.
I couldn't resist The Wicker Man either at £2.99 although I did try!
I did resist Quills at £4.99 so I do have some will power!!

The Rutles: All You Need Is Cash is £2.99 in Virgin, so an even better bargain. I was tempted to return my £3.99 to HMV but in the end I couldn't be bothered. It's a quid, I know, so I'll soon have to hand in my notice as a Yorkshireman for passing it up...
Planet Of the Apes (2001) is £3.99 in Virgin.
Dirty Harry is £2.99
Dark star is £2.99.
If you have a Music Zone near you then you can save a further 20p each on the latter two!
Thanks for the tip-off re The Wicker Man.
Rock Profile is now £8.99 in Virgin, which is excellent considering it's a newie, I think. HMV are doing it for £9.99. Cabaret is £2.99.
In amongst AMAZING offers like HANNIBAL for £24.99 and GALAXY QUEST for £19.99, there is actually ONE bargain.
RAY (2-disc) for £5.99

Picked up the JACKASS box set (film and tv series) for £9.99 instore. Might be good for a laugh. Or for a Christmas present.
The Virgin exclusive Titanic 5 disk limited edition is £19.99 instore (same price as online but you have to pay postage as under £20).
This is the 4 disk SE plus the Ghost of the Abyss (UK R2 is only 1 disk of the theatrical version but has DTS, R1 is 2 disk as includes an extended version on disk 2 but is only DD).
They also have the 4 disk Jurassic Park boxset for £14.99 (rrp £29.99), this is the 3 film disks plus an additional disk of extras.
Bought a copy of That 70s Show in the Milton Keynes Megastore for £12.99. It rung up on the till as £19.99 though so I think it's a pricing error, it was certainly £19.99 earlier in the week. I saw a copy of it in the normal rack that had one of Virgin's normal stickers on it with the £19.99 price so I think the store have taken the £7 off that price instead of the £26.99 they should have done! There were a few copies priced at £12.99 though so maybe someone else here might find this bargain.
I went to the Plymouth Megastore yesterday and they had quite a lot of old Carlton DVD's. Both 'The Protectors' sets for £39.99 and the much derided 'Space 1999' Year 2 for a whopping £79.99. They also had two sets of 'The Persuaders' for £29.99 each! Sold.
Had a few TV bargains in their boxset sale
Jeeves and Wooster Complete £24.99 (half price)
Brideshead Revisted £24.99
Ultimate Force Series 1 to 3 boxset £19.99 (this is the price for only series 1 and 2 elsewhere).
Band of Brothers DVD ( Tin Edition ) £19.99
But only this week, by the looks of things. I think I'm right in saying that's a pretty fantastic bargain.
" I can live with doubt, and uncertainty, and not knowing. I think it's much more interesting to live not knowing than to have answers which might be wrong... I don’t have to know an answer. I don’t feel frightened by not knowing things, by being lost in a mysterious universe without having any purpose, which is the way it really is, as far as I can tell, possibly. It doesn’t frighten me."

I've tried to order this twice now from Virgin online. Both times my order has been inexplicably cancelled - but not by me!
Maybe I'll try the shops instead.
