I don't have the disc, but Lucy Skeaping is the name I always associate most with Take Two.Originally posted by BobbyFischface@1 Nov 2004, 7:23 PM
Recommended release anyway. Can anybody else who's got it tell me who the presenter is on the clip from Take Two, please? Name's on the tip of my tongue.

I thought Schofield presented that didn't he?
From 1984 this one, so probably a bit early for your man Schofield. This is a blondeish woman. Lucy Skeaping rings vague bells, not 100% sure though.I thought Schofield presented that didn't he?
Come and relive 1984 every day this year...

If she's lisping slightly, it's Lucie Skeaping.
I shall check it out when my copy arrives tomorrow - ~I've managed to persuade school to buy a copy for when we do classic texts.
You will approach the Sssssssssssssspidron
For some reason the name "Joanna" comes to mind with Take Two - not quite sure what her second name was.
Great to hear its episodic, shame about the packaging though.
Luckily for me my choices direct order is now void, thanks to an expired credit card. So I'll be buying this in smittys tomorrow.![]()
Joanna Thingummybob rings bells with me too.
Nice to see you around these parts, Fisher.
Ah yes - Joanna Ferk.Originally posted by Duncan Harvey@1 Nov 2004, 10:55 PM

I had a vague feeling her name was Joanne Buchan. However, TV Cream gives Lucie Skeaping as the female presenter.Originally posted by BobbyFischface@1 Nov 2004, 7:23 PM

Mm. Generally speaking, what's there is wonderful (and I'm really just grateful to have a six-part uncropped version; until two years back my only copy was a very rough multi-generation copy of the 1986 (?) three-part repeat, and then a couple of years back I taped the CBBC repeat which was cropped and had announcers waffling over the scrunched-into-a-ball-in-the-corner-of the-screen-credits (and I missed the start of episode 1). So this release is wonderful just in that respect.
The extras are pleasant (love the contemporary interview. Devin's a hippy!!!, but...I'm at a loss to understand why the QED feature wasn't included. I mean, I presume it still exists. I wonder if maybe the thinking may be, it's a children's release, so therefore we'll just have children's programmes? But that's a bit of a shortsighted view, IMO - many of the people who'll be interested in this (and others in the children's classics range) are going to be the sort of people who saw it as children and are buying it now for nostalgia, or because they're specifically interested in cult television, so it wouldn't seem unreasonable to give them something a little more substantial. Similarly, although it's nice to see Devin and Renny interviewed, it would have been nice to have a few more people included (rather disappointing that neither of seemed to know that Joanna Dukes, at least, had gone on to other stuff, although admittedly she seems to have dropped off the radar after Press Gang). And an isolated music track would have been appreciated too.
So...great for what's there, but a pity that there couldn't have been a little bit more. Maybe a couple of years down the line we can have Box of Delights - Special Edition DVD??!

Well, I've just sampled the delights of the DVD and I'm quite happy with the set. Piccie quality is ok and the menus are nicely made. Interesting interview with the director, but Stanfield didn't have that much to add. A picture of what he looks like now would have sufficed.
