Please use this thread to discuss Powerplay Direct and post offers from them.

Current offers from this retailer are listed here.

    Original Post:

Has anyone ever come across Powerplay Direct?
They are a Guernsey based outfit that seem to have sprung up recently. They have some pretty good prices and claim not to charge until despatch, so I'd be interested in any feedback anyone who has used them has.

PowerPlay Direct are currently offering the very excellent Hell Drivers (special edition) for a rather splendid £8.99.

That's a pound cheaper than anyone else at the moment.

    Hello Folks,

This is a bit complicated, so hope it all makes sense!

CDanddvdbargains.com have an offer with Powerplay for a £1 discount code (which appears to work on one item of the first order only) - visit their site below to use it, but note that the code to use is actually CDANDDVD:

    CD and DVD Bargains.com

The forthcoming Hancock and Steptoe dvds are showing as £8.99 each (the cheapest I've spotted them on the net so far), which means that if you're feeling in a particularly cheapskate mood you can pre-order one of them for the princely sum of £7.99 (£2 cheaper than the next lowest price I've found).

As Powerplay say they don't charge until despatching the item, and you can cancel the order before despatch anyway, it looks like a goody to me!

Note that the £1 discount is only valid until the end of July, so get cracking if you want to use it!

Hoping this makes some sort of vague sense early on a Saturday morning.....

PS - If anybody manages to get the code to work more than once, please could you tell me how? Thanks!

I fancy Traffik (the TV series that inspired the film) at £8.99 so I'm giving them a tryout. Would have been £7.99 had I seen the above message before I ordered! <_<

Not too much, I know, but on the basis that every little helps.......

    50p discount code: WELCOME

Valid until midnight Sunday 18th July 2004, and not sure how many times you can use it for seperate orders (once would be my best guess though!&#33.

It does work, I've just pre-ordered the Steptoe and Son series 1 dvd for £8.49, reduced from £8.99.
