Customs charges will be a bitch on this !
    That's great news!

Let's hope we see the release by Christmas. Availability and problem customs is a bridge we'll cross when we get to it.

Agreed. Very glad to hear that another archive series is escaping rights limbo!
I'd be curious to see this again, particularly the rarer episodes and the reunion movies. Not seen it since original transmission, though.

The reunion specials, commonly dubbed The Menopause Years, may not, as the article says, be part of this forthcoming set. However, they have been available to buy in the States for some time now. Indeed, if you look on Amazon UK, and get it from the US seller all_your_music (for £17.95 + £1.26 p&p), they ship from within the UK, thus avoiding any nasty customs charges.

Cheers, don't think I've seen most of those.

    What a shame.

On Barney Rosenzweig's blog he as much as confirmed the release was coming soon.

Sorry to hear about yet further problems.

That's gonna be harsh on the import duty.

Yes indeed, though a big full series set like this ain't gonna be cheap which ever way you look at it, so I for one will be factoring in a probable import duty thumping alongside the price (tba) when it becomes available late this year.

I wonder if the bonus features from "The True Beginning" will be carried over ?
Otherwise I'll be stuck with two copies of season 1 !

Isn't that Sharon Gless debut run actually Season 2?

    Maybe, maybe not.

My own attitude on this, is that as we'll be getting far more on this new mega-set (episode wise) than is currently available, and it's been quite a while since Season Two was released, I don't even consider it as 'double dipping'.

As far as the two-part doc on the True Beginnings set goes, rip it to your hard disc, flog the set on Ebay, then go for the new set when it becomes available.

I came her to post the same.

I wonder what the price we be roughly, not including the duty. I think I'll order it anyway as a full UK release looks unlikely. I have been waiting years for this news.

Goodness knows, though I doubt it will be cheap!

Mind you, as we've had/got plenty of notice prior to it's release, now is the time to start saving for it.
